An interesting subset of the Outsider Art genre is Outsider Typography (aka Folk Typography). As you may guess, it’s typography that has been created by people that aren’t designers. The resulting type can be wildly successful or it can be physically painful to look it. Either way, outsider typography can be a valuable source of inspiration for a designer (if nothing else, it can show you what you shouldn’t be doing).
