Pop Culture As Mexican Folk Art

California-based artist Jose Pulido reimagined various pop culture characters in the form of traditional Mexican folk art. His Day of the Dead style gocco prints span many genres, but a theme he seems to revisit a lot is Star Wars. Prints and t-shirts of Jose’s designs are available at his Etsy store and you can also check out more of his artwork on his Flickr page.

I think this is awesome. I am currently studying a lot of cross-cultural individuals and this is a perfect example of what I am looking for. My boyfriend is a huge Star Wars fan and I am Hispanic, so this was a great facebook wall share.
