Slovakian designer Peter Jakubik’s latest creation is the coolest chair I’ve seen in a long time. Inspired by legendary Danish furniture designer Verner Panton’s iconic Panton S chair, Jakubik’s Panton DIY is carved from a single log with a chainsaw. Check out Peter’s Flickr page to see more images.

This drawing of the Bermuda Triangle of Productivity by Fuchsia Macaree made me laugh. I find myself lost in those murky waters all too often.

I’ve really enjoyed looking through Rich Pellegrino’s portfolio. His portraits of celebrities in particular, are some of my favorites. I love how much color he uses; the absence of typical “flesh tones” gives the portraits a very unique character. They remind me a bit of my friend Kristen Copham’s paintings.

A few months ago I compiled a list of the Top 20 Image Bookmarking Sites. There were a number of other sites that I discovered after the fact that would have made my list too (a few readers alerted me to some other excellent sites I missed in the comments of that post).

Yesterday I came across a new image bookmarking site that I’m really excited about, which deserves being featured. The site, which is aptly titled Designspiration, is an awesome collection of visual inspiration submitted by users. But its added features make it stand out from many of the other image bookmarking sites out there. For instance, you can filter images by color and to search for images you simply starting typing in a keyword. No need to enter it in a search box. But most of all, the images on the site are just really great.

So, help me out readers…what are some other image bookmarking sites you frequent?

This post is a slight departure from my normal posts. For the past few months I decided to give up shaving and then, last night, I concluded that it was time for a change. So rather than just shaving it all off at once, I had a little fun with my facial hair. This grid shows my progress. Happy Friday everyone!

Meat America is a project by Philadelphia-based photographer Dominic Episcopo that celebrates America through the medium of meat. Episcopo’s tongue-in-cheek description of Meat America calls it “an eye-opening and artery-closing tour of America’s spirit of entrepreneurship, rebellion and positivity.” Nothing says “rebellion” like a ground beef WTF.

This fruit inspired wrapping paper by Swedish design firm Happy F&B may just be the greatest innovation in gift giving since curling ribbon with scissors. And, get this, rumor has it that it’s printed with scented ink. Whoa…I know.

Isaac Salazar’s book art has been making the rounds in the blogosphere and if you haven’t seen his work yet I highly recommend checking it out. He creates typographic images by precisely folding individual pages in books…it’s truly amazing.
(Thanks to Russell for sending me this link)
