The television series Dexter has developed quite a cult following recently. While I’m not as obsessed with it as some people, I still really like this guide to Dexter’s knives by Brazilian graphic designer Guilherme Henrique. Click on the image below to see it full size…

Guide To Dexter's Knives

St. Louis-based artist Sarah Frost creates large-scale installations out of thousands of keys from old keyboards. The subtle patterns and textures she develops are very striking. And best of all, it’s recycled!

In Albuquerque, New Mexico a street artist known as Rainbow Warrior has been creating a bit of a stir. He/she pours paint from the tops of buildings to create dripping rainbows down the sides of the bland brick exteriors. While some Albuquerque residents are not amused by these spectral shenanigans, others are rallying behind Rainbow Warrior and showing their support. There’s even a Rainbow Warrior fan page on Facebook. Personally, I think this is really great.

And if rainbow graffiti is your thing, then check out this interview with Rainbow Warrior from Alibi.

Many inventions aren’t given the credit they deserve due to their simplicity. The key ring is a prime example. But let’s face it…whoever it was that was thinking outside the box one day and said “Huh, why don’t we attach all our keys to a metal ring?” was a genius. And then along comes the Keybrid: a key with the ring built into the key! How cool is that? Blank keys can be purchased directly from Keybrid for under $10.

French photographers Laetitia Chretien and Sebastien Zanin are proof that creative photography doesn’t require expansive sets and obscure props to wow people. Armed with some streamers and confetti, they created these hilarious, yet slightly disturbing, photos depicting the day after a party. It seems fitting to post in the wake of New Year’s. Here at CMYBacon we fully support going wild at a party, but please try not to get to the level of puking ribbons the next morning. You’ve been warned.

Well my holiday vacation has finally come to an end and I’m back in the swing of “real life”. My strict adherence to leisure time over the past couple weeks, coupled with an internet connection that likes to “keep me guessing”, has resulted in a fewer posts on CMYBacon, but rest assured, the good old days are back. Now on to traffic sheep…

What are traffic sheep, you ask? They’re a fun project by British designer Christophe Machet whose purpose is to keep drivers with lead feet under control. Basically traffic cones…only sheepier. This reflective flock is reminiscent of Michael Savona’s Geese Traffic Cones. Fun idea.
