Needlepoint Thread Sculptures

I’ve never met Toronto-based artist Dorie Millerson, but I think I can safely assume she has some of nimblest fingers in the world. You’d have to in order to create these stunning thread sculptures. Dorie takes needlepoint to a whole new level where she is literally drawing with thread. I, on the other hand, struggle tying a hook to a fishing line. And that’s why I don’t do needlepoint.

Technically needlepoint, but otherwise known as needle lace. It is variations on a simple buttonhole stitch, a looped stitch. Lots of how-to books out there on this art. Go for it!
