Guerrilla knitting, or yarn bombing as it’s sometimes called, has been gaining a lot of popularity recently. Here’s a new twist that I haven’t seen anyone do before: Juliana Santacruz Herrera took to the streets of Paris to “repair” potholes by filling them with colorful crocheted fabric. (I’m not an expert on the art of crocheting/knitting, so if anyone could confirm whether or not this is in fact crochet I would appreciate it! I had a hard time finding much more information on this…)
If I ever propose during a biker game rumble I’ll be sure to bring a pair of Kate Bauman’s diamond ring brass knuckles, called ‘Til Death Do Us Part.

Few things are more frustrating than a hopelessly tangled extension cord. However, these artists might disagree with me. In fact, they turn regular cords into braided and knitted works of art!
This tightly wound cable by Karl Zahn was what first sparked my interest in cord braiding.
A few weeks ago I bookmarked this video after I read about it on Swiss Miss and finally got around to watching it last night. The video, titled More Perfect Typography, is a 30 minute talk by Tim Brown about using the Golden Ratio to create harmonious typography. Don’t worry, the math isn’t too scary. It’s actually one of the most intriguing talks I’ve heard in quite some time. Check it out.
