Word Paintings by Wayne White

Los Angeles-based painter Wayne White takes vintage reproductions of landscape and still life paintings and carefully integrates over-sized words into them, providing humorous and thought provoking commentary, in a series called Word Paintings. Wayne’s biography is an interesting read, too. He’s created illustrations for publications like the New York Times, worked as a designer for the TV show “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse”, and was an art director for music videos like “Tonight, Tonight” by the Smashing Pumpkins. Most people could only dream of such an illustrious career!
