Here are a couple more Scandinavian maps from the 1960′s that I found: one of Sweden and one of Helsinki, Finland. Be sure to check out the map of Denmark that I posted a couple weeks ago too!

I found a book of WWII ration stamps from 1943 that had been my grandmother’s. They came in a fancy little faux leather booklet and the stamps have great little illustrations on them. These might not belong in MoMA’s collection, but I think they’re cool since I’m a big fan of vintage design.

Developing film is a pretty foreign concept to most people these days. I found this Pako photo/negative envelope that came from a developer in Minneapolis in the 1960′s and thought I’d share it. I love the little illustration and the way that the tape adds an interesting element to the composition of this image. If you want to see other developing envelopes, check out this Photo Developing Envelopes flickr group.

Here’s another piece of ephemera that I dug up. It’s a postcard from the M/S Skagen, a passenger and car ferry that traveled between Kristiansand (Norway) and Hirtshals (Denmark). If it’s not obvious from the interior design choices on this ship, this postcard is from the 60′s (1965 to be exact). Click on the image to see it full size.

I recently found a map of Denmark from 1965 and really liked the illustration on the cover. Gotta hand it to the Scandinavians…they’ve known good design for a long time!
